Task:

Remove the door lock cylinder without losing the retaining bolt.

Work:

The retaining bolt should only be loosened, not completely removed.

A specialized pickup tool is then used to safely extract the bolt.

This prevents the bolt from falling inside the door and makes reassembly much easier.
