Joshua Furtado Amaral passed away peacefully on Monday, February 28, 2022 at UF Health Hospital at the age of 33. Born on March 31, 1988 in Norwood, Massachusetts, Joshua was the beloved son of Bert and Linda (Kjersgard) Amaral of Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother Kyle Amaral ( longtime girl friend Kayla John) of Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survived by his relatives Kathy Walsh (husband Declan) of Foxborough, Massachusetts, Debbie Fitzgibbons (husband Patrick) of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, Gabriella Hannon (husband John) of Warwick, Rhode Island and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gael Azevedo and Erminia Amaral.
Josh grew up in Seekonk, Massachusetts and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in his later years. He truly loved his family and friends and was known by all for his unwavering generosity, kindness, and huge heart and was always there for anyone that needed his support. Josh had a special passion for the love of cooking. He was an amazing cook, which is why it was no surprise that he was well known for preparing elaborate meals for his friends and family.
Josh was a guy who was clear on what really matters in life. It showed in how he took care of the ones he loved and how he treated everyone. It showed in where he put his energy and how he chose to spend his time. It showed in his generous nature each and every day of his life. He was a good man, brother, friend and wonderful son and will be dearly missed by all.
