🛡️ Information Security: Integrity
Integrity is the guarantee that information remains unchanged and authentic. This means that data has not been altered, deleted, or corrupted without permission. Integrity is important for protecting against forgery, falsification, and other types of data manipulation.
There are several ways to ensure integrity.
One is hashing. This means that data is converted into a unique code (hash) that can be used to verify its authenticity.
Another way is digital signatures. This means that data is signed with a unique key that can be used to verify its authorship.
Integrity is an important aspect of cybersecurity. It helps protect information from unauthorized changes and guarantees its authenticity.
