They are not packing invisible suitcases or adjusting to the idea of “another family.”
The shadow of parental presence is the space where sleep can be deep.
The night light shines not from fear, but from certainty that darkness will not take what matters most.
Safety is when the night passes and morning returns everything to its place.
And the child wakes up as a child — not as a survivor.
